Rhinoplasty is a procedure performed for functional purposes to relieve nasal obstruction, provide access for sinus surgery, correct congenital and traumatic nasal deformities, as well as for aesthetic enhancement.

 

Asian rhinoplasty is unique as the Asian nose is anatomically distinct. It warrants a unique philosophy and specialised techniques. Even within Asia, there exists a wide diversity of nasal and facial morphology and Southeast Asian noses compose a unique subset of nasal and facial morphology within the continent and is deserving of attention as a subgroup on its own.

 

It is with this in mind the Chapter of Rhinoplasty was established under the auspices of the ASEAN Rhinologic Society. The function of the Chapter is to promote the study and development of Asian Rhinoplasty through: 

 

1. Educational events

2. Research collaborations across ASEAN 

3. Networking of Rhinoplasty surgeons  

 

The establishment of the Chapter of Rhinoplasty with the ASEAN Rhinology Society will contribute to the collaborative study and development of Asian Rhinoplasty in ASEAN. It will add value to the educational experience of members of the Society in the understanding and practice of Rhinoplasty.
